THE HOUGHTON CITY COUNCIL WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING AT 5:30 p.m. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2018, IN THE HOUGHTON CITY CENTER COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 616 SHELDEN AVENUE, ON THE FOLLOWING PROPOSED ORDINANCE:

Proposed Ordinance 2018-291. This proposed ordinance amends Chapter 98, Sections 98-109 and 98-422 of the Houghton City Code allowing for one medical marihuana provisioning center.

Following the public hearing, the Council will hold a regular meeting to act on the Proposed Ordinance. The public hearing is a chance for the Council to receive public comments on the proposed ordinance. Copies of the proposed ordinance are available at the Houghton City Clerk’s Office, 616 Shelden Avenue, Houghton between the hours of 8-5 on weekdays and on our website cityofhoughton.com/info-hearings.php. RENTAL HOUSING BOARD


The City of Houghton Rental Housing Board will hold Public Hearings on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Center, 616 Shelden Avenue, Houghton, MI, 49931. The purpose of the Public Hearings is to consider applications for a rental license at 200 Pearl Street and an application for a rental license at 1757 Upland Road.

Following the Public Hearings, the Rental Housing Board will hold a meeting to consider the applications.

The Public Hearing is an opportunity for public comment. The phone number for the City Offices is 906-482-1700 and the City offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Comments may also be mailed to: City of Houghton, PO Box 606, Houghton, MI, 49931 or e-mailed to: clerk@cityofhoughton.com.
